Oil Paintings - Prints - Giclee Prints

All prints ordered on my website are giclee prints.

What is a Giclee Print?

Giclee prints use special light-fast inks, which, if kept out of the sun, will remain true for up to 25 years. Giclee prints can be produced on any paper, and printers generally have several specific ones to choose from. For my site I choose to print on fine art paper and on canvas. Note that canvas prints are much more durable than paper in the long term.

Fine Art Paper Prints will be printed and sent unmounted with a 1” white border. There are two different types of paper that will be used depending on the medium of the artwork.

Epson Somerset Velvet (This paper will be used for all oils on canvas prints)

This is a very popular textured paper favored by artists. It is an acid-free, 100% cotton, single-side coated paper showing a natural white finish with a slightly structured, soft-textured surface matte.

Epson Ultrasmooth Fine Art Paper (This paper will be used for all sketches on paper and most of the prints in the Realismo section)

This paper is an acid free, 100% cotton hot press paper. This cylinder mold-made product features an ultra smooth finish, but it is also pH buffered with calcium carbonate for a true archival sheet.

Canvas prints will be mounted over 1.5” thick (depth) stretcher bars. These prints are meant to be hung unframed or inserted into a canvas floater frame.

The material used is a professional grade bright white, poly-cotton canvas. The poly-cotton weave provides more resistance to humidity and shrinkage over time. The acid free coating offers improved ink saturation and better contrast over most regular canvases.

The choices of finish are either matte or glossy.
